Mark Wood visits Atlee High School

Help support the Atlee Orchestra - WORLD-RENOWNED ELECTRIC VIOLINIST MARK WOOD, formerly of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, is coming to Atlee! Mark Wood will be performing with AHS & CMS students on Tuesday JUNE 2nd at 7:00 pm in the ATLEE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM Tickets $12/each and all proceeds will benefit the music education programs at Atlee & CMS. 

YSA ABC Summer of Service Award

I was recently selected to receive the Youth Service America Summer of Service Award. This monetary award will allow me to enrich the Music To My Ears program by offering practice instruments to those students that do not have access to one!

Local students play in Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra

The Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra will be playing side-by-side with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra for free at 7 pm on Tuesday, November 12th, at the Carpenter Theatre. Two Kings Charter high school students, Johnny Willing & Sean Simmons will be performing with them. Please come out and see a great performance. Sean is a Music To My Ears instructor.

SMAK (Summer Music Activities for Kids)

SMAK
July 22 is the last day to register and pay. 
SMAK will take place at Cool Spring the week of August 12-16 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. All children age kindergarten through grade 5 will be eligible to sign up for SMAK. Please e-mail Linda McNally at [email protected]  for additional information. The cost for SMAK is as follows:

$50 - 1 child
$80 - 2 children
$100 - 3 or more children total per family

Jefferson Awards, Youth Service Challenge recognition

I had very exciting news this week. Music To My Ears won a national award! The prestigious Jefferson Awards, Youth Service Challenge, named Music To My Ears a national winner in the education and literacy category. There were 3700 nominees and the top 3 in 9 categories received national recognition. You may read more here.
